Most of de people may wonder, is this de job that suits you most?

i dont know, some look for salary, some look for challenges, some look for charity services, some look for personal interest... whatever de reason, do something that makes u feel happy & wont regret doing it.

i need to make de 1st step, always wanted to stick to tourism industry, yetz find de salary miserable, sigh... what's to complaint then!

Day-day life 9-6pm 5.5days office job, replying emails everyday. YUCKS! but leave me with "no choice"? Is that sO?

i flip back my most wonderful memories in eastern holiday, tour leading... i was filled with excitement. The people you meet, de delicious food, yr working colleagues etc.

Found de information below & wanna share with everyone:

How to be a licenced Tourist Guide
At the frontline of Singapore’s tourism industry is the General Tourist Guide (GTG), who is licenced by STB to promote and conduct tours within Singapore for a fee. To bring about greater vibrancy to the tourism industry, STB has also introduced two new innovative categories of tourist guides - the Taxi Tourist Guide (TTG) and the Specialised Tourist Guide (STG).
A Taxi Tourist Guide (TTG) is a tourist guide who is licenced to conduct a tour using the taxi as a mode of transport. A TTG is also a GTG with the added option of being able to ferry tourists around using a taxi.
A Specialised Tourist Guide (STG) is a tourist guide licenced by STB who has the knowledge and ability to provide guiding services in fields such as Nature, Food, Heritage, Arts, Architecture and Special Interest. However a STG should not engage in any other services beyond the field that they are licenced in and they will only be permitted to provide transportation for the tour. How do I become a:

General Tourist Guide
We are glad to embark on the Tourism Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) framework that seeks to nationally certify the tourist guide candidates and further improve the alignment between training and assessment. This would better equip aspiring tourist guides with relevant competencies to join our tourism industry and deliver work performance that is of good quality. Our training providers (some of which are accredited by the WDA) have revamped their course syllabus, ensured trainers are certified and conduct pre-screening to ensure the right mould of candidates for entry into the tourist guide course.

Under the Tourism WSQ framework, all Tourist Guide training providers would be required to align their course content to the 3 Competency Units jointly identified by STB, industry members and the Workforce Development Agency (WDA). The 3 Competency Units are :

(a)Apply Tourism Knowledge
(b)Interact with Guests
(c)Conduct Tour
